Renato Rascel was born in 1912, Turin, Italy. He was born with the stage name of Renato Ranucci. He was a film actor, singer and songwriter. He appeared in 50 films between 1942–72. Rascel represented Italy in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1960 with the song "Romantica", which placed equal 8th out of 13 entries.
