This dining set was designed by Gastone Rinaldi for Rima in the 1970s, and consists of a table in chromed metal with smoked glass, and four chairs in chromed metal.
The Italian designer Gastone Rinaldi was born in Italy, in Padua, in 1920; his father Mario Rinaldi was the founder of the RIMA metal furniture manufacturer, founded in 1916, and of which Rinaldi took over in 1948, together with his brother Giorgio.
In the post-war years, RIMA quickly became, under the leadership of Gastone Rinaldi, a leading company in the sector in Italy, creating highly successful designs such as the DU9, DU10, and DU11 chairs (1951 for the Hospital furnishings section of the IX Triennale Milan), the sculptural armchair DU43 (1953), the chair DU30 (1954, Compasso d'Oro), the armchair DU41...
