Rosa Canto Paintings

Spanish, b. 1968

Rosa Canto is a Contemporary Bold Landscape painting. Canto was born in Alicante, Spain where she still resides. Her artistic studies began at the Fine Arts School in Alcoy, and later she studied in Valencia at the San Carlos Fine Arts University. She is an accomplished painter in oils and despite her youth, she has achieved merited success. Canto is a master of paint and has a loose and free-flowing style, capturing the depth and perspective of the landscape with great skill. She prefers naturalism and realism in her subjects to romanticism and considers her work to be a journey. Canto takes a visual picture of fields full of brilliantly colored flowers or serene Spanish villages. Her goal is to be set apart from the traditional subjects of the artists from her region, by always portraying her homeland from her point of view.

The Trossachs, Scotland
By Alfred de Breanski Jnr.
Located in Hillsborough, NC
Landscape painting of The Trossachs, Scottish Highlands, 20th century is after renowned landscape artist Alfred De Breanski, Jnr, (1877-1955). As in this painting, De Breanski established a reputation for his distinctive vivid greens and color in impressionistic style within realism of his subject. This mountain scene with lake and watering cattle demonstrates the oeuvre of this artist, and also his father Alfred de Breanski Sr. This is a particularly beautiful landscape painting of Scotland, in a favorite natural region by Perthshire. 'The Trossachs' shows fine brushstrokes in the clouds, and area of raised paint over the ground. Light is captured on misty hillsides, and reflected in the water. De Breanski studied at St Martins School of Art, England, but had the benefit of his father, his mother and his Uncle who were all successful artists of their time, and their work continues to be highly sought after for the detail and light captured in plein art...

At the Yacht Club
By Edward Cucuel
Located in Costa Mesa, CA
Artist Edward Cucuel and his wife Clara Lotte von Marcard spent their first two decades together in Germany, mostly in a villa on Lake Ammersee in Holzhausen near Munich. It is the works created in this period, mainly outdoor scenes of young women in fashionable attire of the day, that are most collected and appreciated among his works. It’s easy to see why- they capture an elegance and sense of calm and easy leisure- of long days in gardens or by the water.  This is one of those captured moments with a well-dressed woman watching the sailing yacht...
