Elegant like jewellery, the Ring coffee tables are inspired by raw cuts of precious stones prior to being mounted into rings. The choice of materials is aimed to emphasise this inspiration behind the collection. The metal base structures are available in several variants each of which corresponds to a geometric form. Like in jewellery design, the glass tops in transparent or light colours are literally set onto the base structures. Serena is an indipendent designer and art director based in Milano. She works on product, graphic and textile design projects and collaborates with many italian and international companies. Her works are placed in-between product and graphic design: an accurate research on the surfaces is always present in her projects. After a Master Degree in Interior Design, she started her career working in many architecture and design practices in Milano, Barcelona and Berlin, and collaborating with the Interior Design Faculty of Politecnico di Milano as assistant professor. Six Piece Studio Mosaic table by Genaro Alvarez composed of. Intricate inlaid glass mosaic designs based on 6 zodiac constellations, on six triangular, interchangeable mahogany bases created at the Genaro Alvarez's Studio in Mexico City in the 1950s. Alvarez studied under artists Carlos Ruano Llopis and Diego Rivera. Employing a style he called symbolic expressionism.Alvarez was commissioned to do large murals in Mexico as well as a major commissions in Chicago, Kansas City and other cities in the United States. He did murals in private men's clubs along the the California Coast. This table's mosaic is composed of a variety of glass tile with the most dramatic being silver mirror glass tile outlines of the zodiac and outlines of stars floating within an earth toned background of dark mocha, sienna, ochre, crème and white Terrazzo with traditional Aztec symbols of Navajo red tile with random red tile pieces all add to this sophisticated design work. Each of the six triangular tables is edged in polished brass with brass legs measuring 23.5 by 23.5 by 23.5 inches.
