Shizen Studio Wall Mirrors

The Rio Mirror is made from a single piece of reclaimed Florida mahogany. The organic shape of the mirror complements the curves of the wood in its natural form. Every piece I make is unique. The finest mahogany grows only in the Caribbean and the southernmost reaches of Florida and is sadly endangered in the wild. This species can only be sourced by reclaiming (sub)urban trees or trees that fell naturally in the wild. The timber is milled locally in South Florida and cured for several years before it is ready for use. The design of each piece is informed by the natural shape and character of the wood. At Shizen Studio, every consideration is made to respect the earth and her inhabitants.
