Sadly Larry was only to sign the first 50 before he was prematurely taken from us, so the edition is very small, just 50 pieces. Larry, you will be missed by true art lovers the world over! Larry was a friend of Jimmy Hendrix...

Limited Edition "Revolver" Surfboard / Sculpture by Andy Warhol & Tim Bessell
By Steve Kaufman
Located in San Diego, CA
Limited Edition "Revolver" Surfboard / Sculpture by Andy Warhol and world renowned surfboard shaper, Tim Bessell, circa 2014. The pintail surfboard is made of polyester resin; hand-shaped polyurethane foam and includes a digital Warhol print. It is in excellent condition with no dings and measures 20"W x 2.5"D x 98"H. The piece comes with a signed certificate of authentication and is #8 of 10 from series #1 of the "Artist Series". These boards currently retail in galleries for $14,000. Very cool and colorful piece of pop art! #3580 Tim Bessell is known worldwide for hand-shaping quality surfboards. Based in San Diego, Bessell originally got the idea after coming across a series of Warhol skateboards by Alien Workshop. “I had seen the line of skateboards and I thought, nobody’s doing surfboards.” The Andy Warhol Foundation, who owns the copyrights to the artist work, jumped on the idea to collaborate. “The project we have with Tim is totally different than the one we have with Absolut or Comme des Garçons or Dior or Converse. We have a shaper here who is also an artist, who is from San Diego, and whose own main inspiration is Andy Warhol. It’s so authentic.” The popularity of the collaboration has grown at a fast pace, with one of the first works of the series was exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. These fully functional surfboards are so beautiful they're more often displayed in the home as sculptural objects. They come ready-to-mount, but can also simply be leaned against the wall.. Bessell has more than 30 years of experience as a surfboard shaper. In 1967, Tim was only 10 years old and lived right next to Andy Warhol, in La Jolla, California. Interestingly, in 1968, Andy Warhol directed a surf movie inspired by Californian surfing. "San Diego Surf...
