Torbjørn Afdal Seating
Norwegian, 1917-1999
Torbjørn Afdal was one of the leading designers at Bruksbo Tegnekontor and in Scandinavia. Afdal became more well known when his furniture was bought by US first lady Jacqueline Kennedy and by the Japanese Emperor. In later years, he was granted the commission to design the parliamentary and chairs and tables to the courthouse in Oslo.

Mid-century Scandinavian high-back lounge chair designed by Torbjorn Afdal for Brusko, Bjarne Hansen Circa 1955, Norway. Crafted of a solid wood frame with flareds arms and newly upholstered in zebra stamped hair-on cow hide leather. Raised on solid tapered beech legs. The chair is has been fully restored by our team of in-house craftspeople with attention to the original refinishing and upholstery techniques. The chair is in an excellent condition with minor signs of age and use.
