Trew Hocker Wall Decorations

Trew Hocker is an important muralist who was strongly influenced by Thomas Hart Benton and Grant Wood. Hocker was born in Missouri, in the heart of the Midwest, and is best known for his paintings that drew from life in the region, including murals illustrating the Louisiana Purchase Exposition for the University City Post Office in St. Louis. He also was drawn to urban environments, reportedly painting for the 1939–40 New York World's Fair. Hocker died in New York.
