A fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver three piece tea service/set - boxed; part of our silver teaware collection This impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver three piece sterling silver tea service consists of a teapot, sugar bowl and cream jug. The pieces of this Victorian tea set have been modelled in the Queen Anne style. The lower portion of each piece is ornamented with alternating batwing and fluted decoration in a swirl design. The upper rim of each piece is encompassed with an applied moulded decorated border. The teapot is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover, ornamented with further fluted decoration in a swirl design to the domed portion. The teapot cover is surmounted by the original carved wood and silver topped fluted oval finial. The teapot retains the original angular carved wood handle with scrolling thumbpiece. The teapot is fitted with a swan necked spout embellished with fluted ornamentation to the lower portion. The cream jug and sugar bowl have angular thread decorated silver handles. The service is provided with six impressive teaspoons and a pair of sugar tongs. The flatware components are each ornamented with a twisted stem and impressive shell decoration to the handle terminal, in addition to an exceptional shell design to the interior surface of the bowl. This impressive antique Victorian sterling silver tea set has been modelled in the Queen Anne style. The lower portion of the teapot, cream jug and sugar bowl is embellished with fluted decoration. The upper portion is embellished with chased floral and scrolling leaf decoration, with a shaped vacant cartouche to both sides of each item. The large teapot is fitted with a domed hinged hallmarked cover ornamented with further fluted decoration. The cover is surmounted by a carved painted wood and sterling silver cushion shaped fluted finial. The incurved shoulders of this fine antique teapot are embellished with a subtle engraved decorated border accented with stylized leaf designs. The teapot is fitted with a plain angular carved painted wood handle featuring a plain thumbpiece. The cream jug and sugar bowl have plain angular sterling silver handles.
