Autumn still life featuring grapes, citrus, a painted Chinese vase and tipped copper bowl. Glowing oranges and reds on a muted reddish brown background. For this painting, Zhi Li used a more painterly technique to play up the warmth and feeling of the scene. "The process was to reduce visual complexity down to its core elements," says Zhi. "I did that by reducing values and selecting the most meaningful aspects of the set up - light shape, shadow shape and local color."
