Elizabeth Treskow Peridot and Etruscan Granulation Gold Necklace, c. 1925
Located in New York, NY
This collectible, stunning, large peridot and 14 karat yellow gold granulated pendant on a 27" long chain by Elisabeth von Treskow, 1920s - 1930s, is truly remarkable. The handmade pendant weighs nearly 50 grams, measures 2.74 inches in height by 1.45 inches in width, and features a vibrant, intensely green peridot of approximately 73 carats with warm gold undertones. The gold is intricately designed with seven swimming fish, created using minute granulation. Treskow crafted this piece in Germany in the late 1930s. Peridot is the astrological gemstone for Leo, and the combination of the gemstone’s symbolism with that of the seven swimming fish represents a blend of prosperity, harmony, spiritual growth, protection, and positive transformation. The pendant is on a 20" yellow gold chain, and can be worn casually or more formally. It is a powerful amulet for attracting good fortune and maintaining a balanced, abundant life. Elisabeth von Treskow (1898-1992) was a renowned German jewelry designer who operated a workshop in Essen from 1919 to 1943. Inspired by ancient Etruscan granulated gold jewelry...
