Michelle Thomas, BFA, returned to painting during the pandemic, in the midst of burnout and recovery. What began as a lifeline quickly became a declaration of rebellion, healing, and connection. Her abstract paintings are bold, curvilinear, and deeply colorful — a visual echo of the looping handwriting she practiced as a child, much to her grandmother’s playful disapproval.
