Danish Modern Full Size Teak Bed Frame by Melvin Mikkelsen Møbler, c1960s
Located in Chino Hills, CA
Just in—a seldom-seen Danish Modern teak bed frame by Melvin Mikkelsen Møbler, dating to the 1960s. Beautifully designed with floating integrated nightstands, this sculptural bed embodies everything collectors love about authentic Danish furniture: clean architectural lines, warm teak grain, exceptional craftsmanship, and effortless functionality. The wide headboard creates a dramatic focal point while seamlessly incorporating matching cantilevered nightstands on each side, eliminating the need for separate bedside tables and giving the bed its signature floating appearance. The teak has developed a rich, warm patina over the decades, showcasing the outstanding grain and craftsmanship that Danish furniture is known for. Supported by elegant tapered legs, the design appears light despite its substantial presence. The frame is in great vintage condition with only minimal wear consistent with age. It accommodates a standard full-size mattress and includes the original slat support system, making it ready for another generation of use. Due to the nature of the frame, the bed will be shipped disassembled and require assembly (VERY EASY) Finding authentic Danish bed frames—especially examples with integrated nightstands—is increasingly difficult, making this a fantastic opportunity for collectors and lovers of Scandinavian design alike. By Folke Ohlsson, Dux of Sweden
Located in Chino Hills, CA
An exceptional Scandinavian Modern lounge chair and ottoman designed by renowned Swedish designer Folke Ohlsson for DUX, circa 1960s. Widely recognized for his ability to merge sculptural elegance with everyday comfort, Ohlsson created some of the most enduring seating designs of the postwar era. This striking example exemplifies the best of Swedish Modern design, combining organic materials, refined proportions, and a dramatic architectural presence. The chair features a beautifully sculpted solid beechwood frame that has been professionally refinished to highlight the warmth and character of the wood. Newly upholstered in a sophisticated gray fabric, the chair showcases Ohlsson's signature floating seat design, gently angled profile, and graceful exposed frame. The matching ottoman mirrors the chair's clean lines and provides exceptional comfort while maintaining a light visual footprint.
