This is a handsome mixed marriage of two similar sets of early New England spindle backed Hitchcock chairs, and are made of pine and maple with primitive hand painted with decoration. All four have a red flower design with green leaves on the top back. Two of them are stenciled on the seats with gold designs. The measurements above pertain to the two stenciled ones, the other two are very close but measure one inch shorter and one inch deeper.
