Contemporary organic modern design inspired by nature and midcentury European sculpture. The Tulip wall sconce not only provides soft ambient illumination, but is also a beautiful sculpture. Uplighter with one bulb. IP20 (interior use) (can be converted to IP44 use). Height 11.8" (30 cm).
*IMPORTANT: the FOOTPRINT of Tulip is H. 3.9” (100 mm) x W. 2.8” (70 mm). Please ensure that the footprint of our wall light is large enough to cover your j-box before placing an order.*
All our plaster wall sconces can be custom colored to a color of your choice if you supply a paint color reference (for an additional charge quoted on an individual order basis). If you do not request our color service, the lights are shipped in our trademark calm white color.
Although our lights are wired using UL listed components, each light fitting is not UL listed. If required, we are happy to supply the name of someone in New York who can do this for USA clients.

We do not supply fixed shipping quotes to the USA or Europe as shipping costs will vary depending on how many pieces you order, and your location. We are able to offer very competitive shipping prices, so please ask us for a quotation. Our shipping cost includes insurance of the goods in transit.
We run plaster casting workshops in our London studio during which participants can cast maquettes (small artist models) of our iconic wall sconces Shell, Tulip and Ovoid.

An interesting, authentic, silver denarius coin from the period of the Roman Republic in 79 BCE, featuring a griffin leaping, is set in a Steven Battelle ancient inspired handmade matte-finish textured bezel mount with 1.8mm VS1 diamond accent. The denarius was approximately the daily wage of a soldier in ancient Rome. This particular type of coin is known as a denarius serratus. The ragged edges of the coin are intentional (all coins of this type have them) to show that coin is pure silver. The minting of the coins was an annual office shared by 3 men, and they often placed the family name on the coins. This coin was minted by moneyer L. 18th century portrait of the artist’s daughter, Catharina, playing the cello

The sitter, seated in a yellow silk gown trimmed with a pink bow playing the cello, is believed to be the artist Balthazar Denner's eldest daughter Catharina (1715-1744), after his marriage to Esther Winter in Hamburg in 1712. She is also recognisable in another portrait of the Denner family in the Hamburg Kunsthalle, painted circa 1740 by the artist's son, Jacob Denner (1722-1765). Oil on canvas in a period giltwood frame.
Provenance: Private collection, Northern Germany
Professor Helmut Borsch-Supan, Berlin, confirmed the authenticity of the painting after examining it in 2013. The painting will also be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonnée of the artist, by Ute Mannhardt.
