About the Item
One of the most incredible pieces of craftsmanship we've seen, this cardigan in a fine brownish plum knit incorporates a vertical zigzag pattern of small crystal beads throughout the sweater. The cardigan features a small collar, narrow waistband, and placket in solid knit, the latter with tiny knit buttons embellished with the crystals. Around the collar, peplum, and wrists is a border of straight crystal stripes. Tiny knit buttons accent the wrists. A unique and finely crafted vintage piece. A blouse in the Met Costume Institute, dated 1935-40, carries the same label.
