This Tiffany Studios New York covered box by Louis Comfort Tiffany, covered with an enamel "Olive" motif, was executed by the Enamelware Department of The Stonebridge Glass Company in New York. The stoic composition is primarily composed of richly enameled copper, with the cover and body of this rare piece sharing decoration of subtly-hued olives, with purple-brown copper branches and deep green leaves. This exceptional Edwardian sterling silver and enamel box has a plain rectangular form. The body of this antique enameled box is plain and unembellished. This antique silver box is fitted with the original domed hinged hallmarked cover ornamented with an exceptional and impressive hand painted enamel panel depicting a river bank scene incorporating a plain beam bridge with a simple handrail. The enamel panel is encompassed with a paralleling scalloped border accented with rope twist ornamentation. The chamfered portion of the cover is further ornamented with an iconic Arts & Crafts style applied lobed border. The interior of the box retains the original gilding; this box can be refitted with a bespoke velvet jewelry box fitment upon request. The surface of this Edwardian jewelry box is plain and embellished with two applied sterling silver balls to the anterior convex arched surface, replicating the details of the draw handles. The original hallmarked hinged cover is plain and parallels the shape of the body, opening to reveal the original segmented velvet interior. The weighted base of this exceptional antique box retains the original leatherette covering to the underside.
