A pair of antique ivory and gold lacquered wood hand-crafted in Italy in the first half of 20th century.

From Northern Italy a rare set of six 18th century gilt wrought iron arms, candle holders, hanging lantern brackets suitable as sconces, if you wire them. These iron arms are fully handmade with curved scrolling iron structure, decorated with  elegant gilt wrought iron acanthus leaves and gildwood balls and bobeches.. Good age related condition, the six arms have the same shape and structure but slightly different sizes, with minor losses, missing giltwood balls in four of item. The gilding of the arms is in good condition, excellent feature in case of their use as sconces, overturning the irons compared to their original use. Some small lacks in the leaves of the crowns of the bobeches, as visible in the picture details. Northern Italy, 1700. A fine and rare pair of English Regency period torchères, or stands (or candle stands) in the manner of Thomas Hope. Circa 1810. Both are raised on tapering simulated-bronze column supports with circular tops and fluted gilt collars, on concave-sided triform bases with winged-panther mask monopodia. The column bases issue from spreading, gilded, carved lotuses. These antique torcheres might also be referred to as columns, ornamental stands, candle sticks, or candelabra.
