About the Item
Antique Rustic Chofa Sculpture. Solid woodblock Folk Art carving of Thai or Lao Chofa sculpture. Carved from a sold piece of wood having a very weathered patina. Heavy wear to the left side, some carving details still visible on the right side. In very good rustic solid condition. A decorative architectural ornament that is typically found on the roofs of temples and palaces in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries. Chofas are often carved from wood and resemble a tall, thin, horn-like bird. Believed to bring good luck and ward off evil spirits, which symbolize protection and power. Hangs on a wall or we can mount it to a stand for an additional cost. Very nice unqiue folk art wood carving.
