Early 1900s Heavy Lead Rooster Sculpture from France
Located in Dallas, TX
This heavy lead sculpture of a rooster was produced in France in the early 1900’s. Our proud rooster can be seen strutting across a rocky foundation. The ground is covered with a fruited flower and two bound sheaves of wheat. The rooster’s mouth is open as if captured in the middle of crowing.

Wallonia is a predominately French-speaking region of southern Belgium, along the France border. Both the flag and the coat of arms of Wallonia feature a crowing rooster with one raised foot, as seen in our sculpture.
