An exquisite French 19th-century Louis XVI-style surtout de table
featuring a centerpiece and two urns in patinated, gilded bronze and onyx, circa 1880.
The oval centerpiece in amber patinated bronze, ormolu and onyx
rests on a rectangular flanged bronze base topped with an onyx slab. Charming cherubs, draped in flowing garments, grace each side, kneeling on onyx bases with floral gilt reserves, and holding the oblong-shaped patinated bronze bowl. Intricate foliate designs and a central cameo of a young woman adorn the bowl, complemented by a reticulated flanged top band and a smooth finished interior.
Two urn-shaped double-handled vases feature ormolu relief decoration depicting quivers, arrows, pan flutes, and vine branches with grape clusters. Atop bases adorned with roaring panther figurines...
