The molded, paneled surface of the wine taster is embellished with the later engraved inscription 'To J.C.P.L from his Godmother E.L.A.E.T, Oct 5th 1894'.
The well of this silver wine taster is encircled with engraved textured decoration.
The impressive example of antique silverware is fitted with two cast scrolling handles with plain elevated thumbpieces.
This drinking vessel retains the original gilding to the interior; this has worn with age in a sympathetic fashion to an aesthetically pleasing mellow color.
