A fine and impressive antique Russian silver gilt and polychrome cloisonné enamel spoon; an addition to our Russian silverware collection
This fine antique Russian silver gilt and polychrome cloisonné enamel spoon has an oval shaped bowl onto an elongated stem.
The reverse surface of the bowl is embellished with cloisonné scrolling and floral designs amidst bands of white bead decoration using various tones of green, blue and red sections of polychrome enamel, all on a matte gilt background.
The enamel segments are encompassed with applied silver paralleling rope twist ornamentation.
The posterior surface of the handle incorporates a lobed knop to the shoulders.
The spoon terminates with a blue toned cloisonné enamel decorated hand piece encompassed with an alternating bead and spindle design, in addition to a tear drop ornamented finial.

Silver quality/purity mark: 84 (84 zolotniks)
Kokoshnik mark: ?, Delta (Moscow)
84 zolotniki is equivalent to 875/1000 or .875 standard silver.
This variation of the Kokoshnik mark was used from 1908-1926, determining the date of this piece as circa 1915.
