Ceratarges armatus Trilobite from Morocco (186 grams)

Ceratarges armatus Trilobite from Morocco (186 grams)

Located in New York, NY

Trilobites, an early arthropod relative of spiders, horseshoe crabs, and scorpions, preserved in this level of detail only occurred as a result of very sudden underwater landslides called turbidite sequences, which ravaged the early earth when the continents were still very much on the move. The contorted body positions of the trilobites demonstrate a final fight against being buried alive. This is an extremely ornamented member of the trilobites' extremely well-known and globally distributed Lichid family. These trilobites have adapted for extreme defensiveness. Their long genal appendages afford them controlled escape from the water column...

Concrete Circular Table, Flipper Collection Studio Irvine for Forma & Cemento
Concrete Circular Table, Flipper Collection Studio Irvine for Forma & Cemento

Concrete Circular Table, Flipper Collection Studio Irvine for Forma & Cemento

By Marialaura Rossiello

Located in Rome, Lazio

The Flipper Circular Table is part of the Flipper collection designed by Marialaura Irvine. Play, color and freedom are the keywords of this new collection based on the principle "by doing less, you do more." Few designed elements allow you to create infinite combinations that give life to bookcases, tables and coffee tables that are perfect for any environment. Three cylindrical concrete modules with different heights and rounded edges are the supporting structure of ever-changing furnishing accessories. The internal metal system allows the modules to be held together, guaranteeing stability even for the bravest combinations. The tops designed with elementary geometric shapes reinforce the concept of game and essentiality, offering the possibility of creating accessories suitable for any public or private environment, offering flexibility and customization but guaranteeing aesthetic coherence and recognisability. Flipper is more than a modular system. Pinball is free interpretation, it is creativity. Any imperfections on the surface such as color variations, porosity, fine cracks and granulations of different colors are characteristics of the material and of the craftsmanship, for this reason they are not to be considered defects. MDF Italia Set of Three Cement Fossil Low Tables Indoor / Outdoor by Xavier Lust

MDF Italia Set of Three Cement Fossil Low Tables Indoor / Outdoor by Xavier Lust

By MDF Italia

Located in New York, NY

The Belgian designer and sculptor Xavier Lust signs Fossil for MDF Italia, an eclectic furnishing accessory that can be used as a low table. A highly versatile design for a family of elements, revisited with more rounded, fluid lines. Built in lightweight concrete, it is suitable for use both indoors and outside, sporting a delicate, neutral finish echoing the nuances of an organic, natural universe. Cement UHPFRC (ultra-high performance fibre-reinforced cement) with cutting-edge technical/structural properties. A fundamental characteristic of the components is mass colouration. The finish and colour of the table bases is the result of a skilled mixture of sand and natural elements. Together with the slow maturation and drying given to each piece, this allows countless subtle shades to be obtained. The combination of this particular material and the maturation process, which is affected by weather changes, may result in visual irregularities in the design and in the colour. The subtle shades and the lack of uniformity in surface and colour are to be considered unique properties enhancing the value of the piece. The Belgian designer and sculptor is again joining forces with the brand, in an eclectic furnishing accessory that can be used as a low table. A highly versatile design for a family of elements, revisited with more rounded, fluid lines. Fossil is a sinuous element in three different sizes and heights. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Its curved lines are in stark contrast with the white cement finish it is made of. Dimension • Fossil S...
