French Neoclassical Wall Mirror

About the Item

A French Neoclassical period wall mirror dating from the late 1800’s. The original mirror has some minor wear, and is beveled with an arched unframed top. The sides and bottom frame are decorated with book-matched walnut veneers to give the look of exotic striped wood. Ormolu at the center depicts Cupid holding a torch, symbolizing life, flanked by angels. To each side of the mirror is an ormolu in the form of a rosette above a string of flowers.
