Italian Mid 19th Century Venetian Rectangular Mirror
About the Item
A stunning and most elegant Italian mid 19th century Venetian st. Giltwood mirror. The original mirror plate is framed within a most impressive Giltwood border with a foliate motif and mottled design. The smooth frame displays a warm satin and burnished finish with an elegantly scalloped shaped outer border. At each corner are exceptional and richly carved large acanthus leaves flanking a most decorative reserve with a lattice pattern and rich scrolling foliate movements. All original gilt throughout.
