Eames for Herman Miller FSW-6 Folding Screen Room Divider, 1950s

About the Item

An early molded plywood screen divider in calico ash, designed by Charles & Ray Eames, manufactured by Herman Miller. The screen's ingenious design allows it to be formed into a variety of appealing shapes. Cotton canvas hinges are flexible, allowing the six panels to extend open or fold down completely to save space. Attractive grain on the natural wood surface, with some scant marks that add character, lacquer finish has been polished with a light touch. In very good original condition, with few chips to the edges and intact webbing. Design was released in 1946 then produced only until 1955, this one dates to the early 1950s.
