Oversized Vintage Moroccan Tuareg Mat with Geometric Patterns, from Rug & Kilim
Located in Long Island City, NY
This oversized vintage Moroccan floor covering is a 9x18 Tuareg mat from the nomadic tribe of the same name. Handwoven with reeds and leather circa 1950-1960, its natural materials enjoy warm brown, red and beige tones in its geometric patterns.
On the Design:
Connoisseurs will admire Tuareg mats as distinct works with their own rich history and unique, masterful craftsmanship. This design is also one of few in its kind to favor a minimalist approach to the primitivist Berber geometric patterns. The large size further connotes a particularly intricate work—likely made by two or more weavers with meticulous detail. It’s as much a collectible piece of folk art and nomadic culture as a comfortable, durable floor covering today.

This oversized vintage Moroccan Tuareg mat...

Located in North Hollywood, CA
1930s Middle Eastern Round Brass Tray 23.5 in. Diameter.
A magnificent antique Middle Eastern round brass tray, a true masterpiece of craftsmanship.
The metal decorative islamic brass polished tray gleams with the warm, lustrous glow characteristic of brass, its surface intricately adorned with a mesmerizing display of hammered intricate patterns. The skilled hands of artisans have transformed this metal canvas into a work of art that captures the essence of Middle Eastern heritage.

At the heart of the brass tray lies an exquisite focal point: an eight-pointed star that radiates outwards, symbolizing unity and balance. Geometric shapes interlock seamlessly with flowing curves, showcasing the artists' profound understanding of balance and aesthetics.
The outer edges of the Moorish style tray bear a border that frames the intricate center. This border is embellished with an array of geometric shapes, Moorish patterns, and ornate detailing, all hand-hammered with great precision.
