Loetz Pampas Glass And Metal Mounted Vase
By Loetz Glass
Located in Dallas, TX
Loetz Pampas Glass And Metal Mounted Vase Czech Republic Circa 1900 Unmarked Height: 7.5 Inches, handle to handle 8.25 Inches Condition: Very good with wear commensurate of age and use with some loss to gilt, The Loetz glassworks existed in Klostermuhle, Austria, for just over a hundred years, starting from 1840. But its heyday was during the life-time of Max Ritter Von Spaun, grandson of the original Johann Loetz who had founded the company. Von Spaun took over the company in 1879 and ran it until 1908, a year before his death. He was assisted by Eduard Prochaska, his technical specialist, and together they invented, designed and produced a whole series of wonderful new types of glass, taking out several patents and winning awards at all the major world exhibitions during the 1890's and the first years of the new century. The Loetz company were amongst the leaders in Art Nouveau design and expecially in irridescent art glass. "Papillon" glass, like the vase on the left, is sometimes known today as "oil spot" glass. Another favourite Loetz colouring was irridized glass with pulled trails called "Phenomenon" glass. There were irridized vases with ribbons of metallic colours winding over the surface, and many spectacular designs with applied trails of beautiful colours, or simply pulled out of the body of the glass to form handles or decoration. About 1900 the company started collaborating with outside designers, and some great artists designed pieces for Lotz, notably Joseph Hofmann, Koloman Moser, Maria Kirchner, and Hofstatter. In 1908 Loetz was taken over by Max Von Spaun's son, also called Max, and although it struggled financially (going through bankruptcy in 1911 and again in 1931) there were several great designers whose work was produced by Loetz during those years and through the art deco period. These included Adolf Beckert...

Mouth-Blown Crystal Glass Pendant, Shibari by Kateřina Handlová for Bomma
By BOMMA
Located in Warsaw, PL
Contemporary mouth-blown crystal glass pendant - Shibari by Katerina Handlová for Bomma Shibari is not simply the technique of tying objects with ropes, but a method of communication within hidden systems of lines and loops. In Japanese it’s called Kinbaku: the beauty of tight binding. This sophisticated collection places crystal centerpieces amidst the knots to draw our attention and create variable compositions. Thanks to BOMMA’s daring design, Shibari may be considered a work of art, whether as a stand-alone piece or in a grouping that resembles a sculpture. Design: Katerina Handlová Materials: Mouth-blown Crystal Glass Product dimensions (diameter): 180 mm (3x crystal part) Product dimensions (height): 700 mm (3x crystal part) Light source: led e27, max. 6,5 w Bulb included: 3x e27, t30 x 300 led, 5w, 380 lm, 2700k, ra90+ Dimming: dimmable with triac; on demand dimmable with dali, rf/wifi, for information on dimming with other systems please contact us directly. Product weight: ± 1 kg Cable length: textile cable 2,5 m Made by hand, in Czech Republic. BOMMA: Founded in 2012, Bomma continually brings the traditional Czech glassmaking craft to new and dynamic levels. With centuries of glassmaking tradition in East Bohemia behind us, we are now advantaged by a rich pool of talent and top-level skills. Instead of simply maintaining these traditions, Bomma moves a step beyond and sets today’s highest standards of glassmaking. Our master craftsmen are backed by some 300 enthusiastic team members in a new and ultra-modern production facility that thrives on in-house technology. Bomma produces 6 tons of refined extra-clear crystal each and every day. Our high-tech bespoke machinery for precise melting and measuring allows our craftsmen reach their maximum potential for manual finishing, enhancing what was always great and making it splendid. Our designed-to- purpose technology lends itself to otherwise unachievable customization and color-blending. Bomma know-how opens its doors to designers, business partners and private clients who continually challenge our technical teams and craftsmen. Bomma emphasis on contemporary design, outstanding glass quality and detail brought them many awards and world-wide recognition in a surprisingly short period of time. We now enjoy an exceptional position in the market, as well as countless interesting projects and collaborations. For this we thank our ancestors, teams and especially our clients. We see our success as an obligation to move ever forward. Join us on this exciting journey. Katerina Handlová Katerina Handlová is a graduate of the Atelier of glass at AAAD Prague (Academy of Arts Prague). She combines glass with different materials such as leather, ropes or porcelain to create objects that mediate her personal experiences as well as her fascination with world of Haute Couture. Katerina finds beauty in quality craftsman-ship which explains her passion for detail. She loves glass...

Large Czechoslovakian Modernist Oak and Walnut Freestanding Wall Unit by Jitona
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Versatile freestanding wall-unit/bookcase in oak, walnut, and pine with aluminum, steel, and brass accents by Jitona (1968, Lomnice nad Lužnicí, Czechoslovakia). Five bays can be assembled in total if all pieces are utilized together - seven pine rails, three long shelves, three long cabinets (including one that is half drawers/half open storage), three long glass fronted cabinets, two shorter cabinets, three shorter glass fronted cabinets, and one drop-down cabinet/bar with glass shelves. All cabinet shelves are removable, though not adjustable. Feet for the cabinets and rails are all adjustable, and the disks on the rails offer stability and protection to both floors and ceilings when adjustments are made. The longer pieces displayed as the three bay unit are all 35.25" long, while the shorter pieces displayed as the two bay unit are all 29.5" L. The configuration options for this highly functional unit are limitless. The bar cabinet, five-drawer walnut chest, glass-fronted cabinets, door-fronted cabinets, and two shelves can be custom-assembled based on requirements/aesthetic preference; the shorter pieces just need to be arranged within the same two bays. The legs for all cabinets can be removed, though, depending on the heft of the items displayed/stored, wall-mounting might be required if the weight is too great for the rails alone to adequately support. The 29.38" high cabinets with legs (if using the legs) must be arranged at the bottom, leaving 64.75" of usable rail height for mounting the other pieces. There are some fleabites to the glass (mostly to the edges concealed by the wooden frame when closed) along with light wear the wood consistent with age/use. Conservatively restored and in very fine, vintage condition. Assembled as a 5-bay unit as shown in the fifth image: Measures: H: 105.38" x L: 171" x D: 16". Assembled as a 3-bay unit with the longer pieces: H: 105.38" x L: 109.63" x D: 16" Assembled as a 2-bay until with the shorter pieces: H: 105.38" x L: 62" x D: 15.63" Each piece of the 3-bay system's measurements - * Two cabinets with doors: Exterior - H: 29.38" (with legs) / 18.5" (without) x L: 35.25" x D: 15.75" / 16.75" (with pls) Interior - Height above the shelf: 7.25" / below 8.25" x L: 34" x D: (shelf) 13.25" / lower surface 14.25" * Drawers: Exterior - H: 29.38" (with legs) / 18.5" (without) x L: 17.5" x D: 15.75" / 16.75" (with drawer pls) Interior (each drawer) - H: 2" x L: 15.38" x D: 13.25" * Small cabinet: Exterior - H: 29.38" (with legs) / 18.5" (without) x L: 17.5" x D: 15.75" / 16.75" (with pls) Interior - Height above the shelf: 8.25" / below 8.25" x L: 16" x D: 14.38" * Glass-fronted cabinets: Exterior - H: 24.5" x L: 35.25" x D: 9.75" Interior - Height above the shelf: 11" / below 11.5" x L: 34" x D: (shelf) 8" / lower surface 9" * Three shelves - H: 0.63" x L: 35.25" x D: 9.75" Each piece of the 2-bay system's interior measurements - * Two cabinets with doors: Exterior - H: 29.75" (with legs) / 18.63" (without) x L: 29.5" x D: 15.63" / 16.63" (with drawer pls) Interior - Height above the shelf: 8" / below 8.5" x L: 28" x D: (shelf) 13.13" / lower surface 14.38" * Glass-fronted cabinets: Exterior - H: 24.25" x L: 29.5" x D: 10" Interior - Height above the shelf: 11.13" / below 11.25" x L: 28" x D: (shelf) 7.75" / lower surface 8.13" * Bar cabinet: Exterior - H: 18.25" x L: 29.5" x D: 10" / 25.88" (when open) Interior - Height (excluding shelves): 16.88" x L: (left side) 9" / (right side) 18.5" x D: 7.75" (shelf) Rails alone: H: 105.38" (the height can be adjusted via a rail extender to, which will be included, and can be increased to 108") x L: 0.88" x D: 5" Cabinet legs...
