De Sede DS-262/11 Armchair in Black Upholstery & Swivel Base by Stefan Heiliger
By Stefan Heiliger, De Sede
Located in Brooklyn, NY
Unimagined flexibility, thanks to two armchair parts. The architecture of the armchair is based on two parts, each able to swivel about its own axis. Depending on how the two chair parts are rotated relative to one another, the lower part can be used as an armrest, a footrest or practical shelf. Elegant buttoning and Fine piping on all sides – quite in keeping with incomparable De Sede quality underscore the impressive look. It’s been going on like this forever: ever since our solar system emerged billions of years ago from the so called primordial cloud, the planets – earth included – have been rotating. And thank goodness: if Mother Earth were absolutely immobile, it would be boiling hot on the side facing the sun and icy cold on the other side. As it is, however, we comfortably enjoy our life – sometimes spinning the way DS-262 does as it rises up like a lofty sculpture in the room – but that nevertheless encourages active relaxation, because the range of different sitting postures can be sampled to one’s heart’s content. Additional information: Material: Leather Category: Select - Black Type: Nappa leather, lighty pigmented Thickness: 1.2 to 1.4 mm Characteristics: Elegant in appearance, particularly durable, less sensitive to humidity, spots and light exposure thanks to an easy-care finish. Living unites practical considerations with a high aesthetic. Dimensions: 110 W x 128 D x 103 H cm Seat height: 43 cm Armrest height: 49 cm Available in other upholstery options: Living, touch, natural, coloral, craft Available in other structural version: Armchair without armrest.

Le Corbusier Lithograph On paper, Totem
By Le Corbusier
Located in Toronto, ON
This exceptional vintage lithograph is signed in the plate Le Corbusier 1963. It is beautifully mounted in a gold gilt frame and was originally purchased in a prominent Toronto gallery in 1960’s. “Born Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, visionary architect and designer Le Corbusier developed new models for post-industrial urban living. He based his design philosophy on systems of proportion, modularity, and geometry; these principles infiltrated his writing, theory, and painting, as well as urban planning. Though Le Corbusier took inspiration from historical architects such as Vitruvius, Leonardo da Vinci, and Leon Battista Alberti—polymaths who similarly explored the relationship between the body and the built environment—his designs were decidedly modern and unembellished. His buildings have been erected in France, India, Japan, and beyond. As a painter, Le Corbusier co-founded the early 20th-century Purist movement, which dictated that objects should be depicted in their most pared-back forms. He later embraced a more abstract sensibility centered on lines, shadows, and curvilinear shapes. At auction, Le Corbusier’s work has sold for millions...
