Incredible vintage Art Deco, Streamline Modern, or Art Moderne rolling chrome and vinyl RCA Victor advertising chairs made by Chromcraft. They are in wonderful vintage condition. There is a repair to the vinyl in the front of one of the back rests. Please see photos, circa 1940s-1950s. This pair of chairs is fabulous. Absolutely! Psssst…they have been in our private collection for about 30 years and we have had them stored safely away till now. We have finally determined we do not have a place for them. Our loss is your gain. It is thought that a small number of these RCA Victor advertising chairs were given or sold to RCA distributors, studios, and showrooms. I seem to remember them in our local record store. In the booth where you would go to privately listen to a record to see if you wanted to purchase it. I’m showing my age. And, Elvis even owned one! The chairs were made by Chromcraft in St. Louis, Missouri. This set is almost perfect Chromcraft was originally named American Fixture and Manufacturing Company and began business in Missouri in 1908. In 1939 they began making metal furniture. Since chrome was the material of the age, they named that division Chromcraft and later incorporated it as a separate company in 1955. By 1960 needing to expand they constructed a plant in Senatobia, Mississippi. Changing hands and consolidating with other companies they remained in business until 2014.
