Very beautiful lounge chair in solid elm wood made in France by unknown maker in the 1970's. This striking low and highly decorative lounge chair is a very eye catching form and is in excellent condition. The shape is very elegant, and has a tapared shape curling upwards, which provides a nice support for the upper body. The wood has a stunning patina, and together with the grain and debarked finished sides, it tells a visual compelling story. The feet are very robust and the whole makes a interesting crossover between European Folk art by mountaineers and craftsmen, Japanese Wabi Sabi and Brazillian style designs.
