Repeating laurel leaves furl outward from a rosette central to the apron, this flanked in all three pieces by masks of mercury in the knees over turned legs capped in stamped sabots. The settee has bold open arms with curled handholds mounted with sharp acanthus mounts raised over beautiful carved dolphin figures. It is an incredibly sturdy and strong construction with unusually thick mahogany woods tenoned into the corners of the legs, the generous material negating the need for stretchers or corner blocks while still remaining tight and perfect in the joints.
