They offer a reasonable flat-rate fee for delivery and set up to the ground floor of your home. They deliver to the vast majority of the lower 48 states. Most deliveries to the East Coast will be 295.00, to the mid-west and Southern mid-west 395.00. To the areas west of Kansas 495.00 and the farthest points to the West coast will be 595.00. Delivery times range from as fast as 1-4 weeks for the east coast to 5-9 weeks to the farthest areas of the west coast, sometimes longer and sometimes even shorter. We are delighted to offer for sale this very fine, fully restored, original circa 1860-1880 James Jas Shoolbred Antique Victorian hand dyed brown leather Chesterfield club sofa A very high quality, original Victorian sofa, purchased by my client two years ago as a fully restored piece from a very fine London antiques dealer, the sofa was fully restored at that time and is in sublime order throughout The sofa has that wonderful horse hair crunch, its hard to explain how much more comfortable original Victorian Chesterfields are verses modern reproductions but take it from me, they are a different level The sofa has the period, stamped & signed porcelain castors, the inside back right leg is stamped with the order number, this is just about as fine of an example as you will find anywhere Condition wise as mentioned it was fully restored two years ago, the gentleman that owned it was an elderly Batchelor, as such the piece has had very little use, there may be the odd small mark from transport and storage but its in very fine order throughout, we have deep cleaned, hand condition waxed and hand polished it as a matter of process Dimensions Height:- 68cm Width:- 208.5cm Depth:- 92cm Seat height:- 40cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point James Shoolbred & Co or also known as Jas Shoolbred was established in the 1820’s as a draper’s shop, at Tottenham Court Road, London. The company first began supplying textiles to the furniture trade. By the 1860’s, the company began designing, manufacturing and selling its own high quality antique furniture in their thriving and fashionable furniture shop. By the 1880’s, Jas Shoolbred had expanded to such an extent that the business had to move to larger premises, becoming one of the first large department stores in London, who would supply quality antique furniture and accessories for the Victorian home. Their furniture was displayed in a series of catalogues that the company produced every year, with their new and impressive designs. James Shoolbred’s furniture was always displayed and photographed alongside the textiles, carpets and other accessories that the company sold, creating an example of interior design for customers to view. Jas Shoolbred was granted a Royal warrant by the mid-1880s and their Victorian furniture was of the best quality available of the late Victorian period.
