Chisme - Contemporary Angular Cocktail Sofa
About the Item
Named after the Spanish word for "Gossip", and inspired by the sharp yet voluminous shapes of 1940s men's tailoring, "Chisme" is a contemporary cocktail sofa that erases the line between style and comfort. Striking shoulders and strong arms make this a very assertive piece, the undisputed star of post-dinner soirees.
The strategically placed angular break not only adds a modern twist but also encourages more intimate and comfortable exchanges, so prepare for the gossip to flow as freely as the cocktails. We set out to design a formal but almost cradling seating experience -- the high and slightly inclined back, paired with a mid-depth seat, both of just the right plushness, are relaxing and inviting, so no one will notice if you nod off for a minute or two.
We upholstered this piece in a delicious, minky velveteen that is available in 27 different colors, all FibreGuard certified for ensured durability. The A.P. has lived in the grand salon of our showhouse since December 2021, has been through dozens of dinner parties with both coffee and wine accidents, and has come out completely unscathed. I will also add that our black mini border collie "Zapote" takes afternoon naps at least twice a week on our Chisme and cleaning is really quite simple.
