Price for: Modules E, C, J The Soft Stone Sofa is a modular sofa system that brings together architecture and comfort in a unique way. Inspired by the large, staggered stone blocks of Parque da Cidade in Porto, it combines clear geometry with an organically soft aesthetic. The asymmetrical modules create a wide range of configurations, tailored to the individual space, giving the sofa a sculptural presence that shifts with perspective. A carefully engineered upholstery construction ensures generous comfort, while selected fabrics enhance its soft design language and lend the sofa a warm, inviting character. Gabriel Tan found the first inspiration for the Soft Stone Sofa in the Parque da Cidade in his adopted home of Porto. During the pandemic, he observed people lounging and interacting on massive, interlocked stone blocks. This image sparked the desire to translate the monumental permanence of natural stone into a soft, comfortable piece of furniture. The system’s eleven modules reflect the asymmetrical structures the designer encountered in the park. Clear geometry, gentle transitions, and a precisely balanced formal language define the unmistakable appearance of the Soft Stone Sofa. The individual cubic volumes are softened by subtly rounded edges, creating an overall harmony that is both surprising and deeply calming. The asymmetrical arrangement of the individual elements creates a dierent sculptural eect from various angles, making the back of the sofa an intriguing focal point in the room. The deliberately designed drape of the cover softens the strictness of the form and lends the piece a subtle nonchalance, enhancing its luxurious character and making the softness of the design visually perceptible at first glance.
