About the Item
The Swedish “trågsoffa” is a traditional wooden sofa of the Rococo and Gustavian periods, usually made of fir, and decoratively carved.
This example is beautifully ornamented with scrolling, foliate carvings along the apron and six legs. The wood has remnants of the original blue-grey pigment, which is richly patinated with centuries of use. A perfect perch for reading or a midday rest, the cushions have been restored and recovered in a Belgian linen.
