Factory Stool by Mingardo

About the Item

Factory stool by Mingardo Dimensions: D34 x W32x H46 cm Materials: RAL 9005 black varnished iron structure and satin natural brass details Weight: 7 kg Also available in different finishes. The finesse of the artisan is met with the practicality and directness of the working factory, forging a series of living objects to serve as highly adaptable utility. The series of objects draws on the beauty present in the robust and highly functional structures of purpose built utilities found throughout a working factory. Many of which built by workers to aid a process and withstand constant use and stress. With such forms derived through necessity alone, honest poetic forms are generated. The Factory Series structural premise is understated though highly adaptable offering many uses within a fluctuating living or commercial application. The common three or four leg frame trope is exchanged for a T construction, allowing the object to appear mobile and inviting graphical application to the space. Mingardo Ilario founded Mingardo Blacksmith Workshop in 1970, after over twenty years’ experience in the metal processing field. The production was initially focused on simple blacksmith works for the construction industry. Over the time, it has become more refined, enabling the company to collaborate with internationally renowned companies and architects: from the first collaborations with architect Carlo Scarpa to the more recent commissions for Museo del Novecento in Milan, Parco della Musica in Florence, and Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari. Over the years, the Workshop has achieved great results, with the production of unique metal products, all hand-wrought by a highly skilled team of specialized artisans. Nowadays, it is highly regarded in the local artisan field for its high-end refined finishing touches and details, and for its know-how.
