This unique painted pine kitchen island with a zinc top was handmade in Provence, France. The bright silver-gray zinc top has been intentionally distressed, and a series of nails which can be seen all the way around the edge were used to attach the top to the base. The wooden base has been painted in a French gray, which meshes well with the metal top. There is an iron towel rack affixed to one side of the apron. An adjustable shelf hangs down from the top via four long iron bolts with washers and nuts. The rectangular shelf is shaped along the long sides.
