Inspired by thick foggy days on the water front that allow us a glimpse of far away beauty through a hazy lens and some hidden details kept secret for a clear sky day. The "Fog" coffee table is an exploration of both wood and metal joinery in which the lines and joints are kept simple and open to the eye of the beholder. A frame of plasma cut steel plates mortised into wood rectangles. The plate steel is jointed and welds hidden before hand sanding a grain into the surface and sealing. Wood (shown in reclaimed water tower redwood) is groove mortised to allow the steel to pass seamlessly across the plane.
