Spectacular original antique French faux bois or rustification (both mean faux, false or fake wood) dining table and four barrel shape arm chairs. This dynamite set (use indoors or out) offers a splendid, canted corner pedestal based table that is the right size for leisurely breakfast or a relaxing game of cards. The four matching chairs appear to have been cut from logs not only completing the set but, the overall vision as well. The unusual and unique shape of each chair makes sitting for long periods of time an absolute joy due to the fact they are incredibly comfortable. Short folks, tall people and those in the middle are all pleasantly surprised when dining at this stellar set. Few and far between, this is one of the nicest square faux bois dining sets we have ever had. The technique of faux bois was used during the 17th century in Spain, Portugal and Italy. It was in the 19th century that the technique was rediscovered in France.
