French Early Modern Console / Vanity /Desk /Writing Table, Robert Mallet-Stevens

About the Item

A Rare French Early Modernist Console / Vanity / Desk / Writing Table in Chromed Tubular Steel, Aluminum & Marble in the style of Robert Mallet-Stevens. The origin of this exquisite piece traces back to the beginnings of French Modernism in the late 1920's & early 1930's. It is sober, functional while having a pure form. And, it is intriguing in its use of industrial materials contrasted with veined red toned marble. Furthermore, it is multi-functional and it's petite size allows use in small or narrow spaces. Dimensions: H 29.25 x W 27 x D 19. The top dimensions are 23.5 x 10”. Additional References: Robert Mallet-Stevens, Le Chevalier, Jean Prouve, Bauhaus, Mies Van der Rohe, Marcel Breuer, Le Corbusier.
