A rare and most impressive authentic Italian Baroque period Christian church sacristy cabinet (vestment chest / credence cupboard) circa 1725
18th century, Italy, richly detailed handcrafted workmanship, having a tall narrow wide rectangular case, with a hinged lid top opening to a spacious shallow storage compartment, above a pair of large cupboard doors decorated in early fleurs-de-lis and foliate scrolls inlays, retaining the original hand forged iron hardware with working lock and key, enclosing a sturdy adjustable-height shelf, and the ability to add additional shelves, all rising on carved walnut bracket feet.
