About the Item

"Two Yachts" is an intimate landscape painting, executed in oil on canvas, measuring 18 x 24 cm. Painted en plein air on Lake Constance, the work lends it a unique vibrancy and authenticity: the brushstrokes convey the changing light, the movement of the air, and the direct observation of nature. The composition is balanced and rhythmic. The vertical lines of the masts and piles form a clear structural framework, softened by the vibration of reflections in the water. The artist deliberately avoids detailed rendering, opting for a loose, impasto brushstroke, allowing the canvas surface to retain the breathtaking spontaneity of plein air painting. The color scheme is restrained and harmonious: the cool bluish-gray and greenish hues of the water and the yachts' hulls engage in a subtle dialogue with the warm, bright nuances of the sky. The subtle accent of the red and white flag in the background adds dynamism and visual rhythm to the composition. The painting's subject matter extends beyond the landscape and takes on a symbolic dimension. Two yachts moored side by side are perceived as the image of two people navigating life together. They could be a married couple, two close friends, or kindred spirits—each viewer finds their own story in this image. The yachts do not compete or drift apart; they exist side by side, in a shared space of silence and trust. The reflection plays a special role: it is not a mirror, but a painterly reinterpretation, heightening the sense of the fragility of the moment and the fragility of human connections, which nevertheless remain resilient. The painting conveys a state of peace, contemplation, and inner harmony. The work possesses high interior and emotional value. Its small format makes it particularly attractive for private collections, where intimacy, depth, and a personal interpretation of the image are important. The painting can be shipped separately or with a frame (see photo). In either case, the painting is completely ready to hang on the wall, equipped with hooks and cord. 21st century figurative landscape oil on canvas painting by Polish artist Magdalena Spasowicz. Artwork is in classic style, it resembles impressionism. Marine landscapes, seascapes, boats, harbors are motifs in Spasowicz's art to which she often comes back. Composition is painted with wide brush strokes. MAGDALENA SPASOWICZ Studied painting under prof. Jan Cybis and graphic arts with prof. Tadeusz Kulisiewicz at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She received her diploma in 1953. Her works have been presented in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad, among others in Warsaw, London, New York, Bratislava, Washington, Moscow, Berlin, Budapest, and are to be found in private and public collections around the world. In 2017 two individual exhibition of the artists took place - at the Regional Museum in Kozienice Palace and at the Museum of Western Mazowsze in Zyrardow. Magdalena Spasowicz has been spending every single moment on painting for many years now. Most of her paintings are monochromatically coloured landscapes, of places where eye cheers soul with a sight close to heart, known and well remembered. French painting of Pissarro and Utrillo has been a very important inspiration for Magdalena Spasowicz. A desire to still-frame every moment when the artist meets Nature and beloved places is an imperative, which obliges to come back to canvas and paint, paint with a total devotion. The artistry of the places represented in the paintings of Magdalena...
