About the Item

A finely crafted rosewood box from the mid 19th century possibly used as a cent or ink box. The exterior features richly grained rosewood with a high polish and is accented with ornate brass trim. The brass is decorated with raised studs and a pattern that adds both texture and visual interest. The interior is lined in velvet offering a soft contrast to the gleaming exterior. A charming and beautifully preserved piece from the Victorian era. Does not include a key. Circa 1850s.
