An 18 karat yellow gold, ruby and diamond necklace, Giovane, Italy, circa 1990s. Designed as ten strands of graduated ruby beads gathered by two floral motifs, each centering an oval cabochon ruby and set with approximately 60 round brilliant cut diamonds each, and two quatrefoils formed by five oval cabochon rubies each, within rococo surrounds set with approximately 74 round brilliant cut diamonds each, punctuated at the bottom by a large foliate motif centering four oval cabochon rubies and set with approximately 95 round brilliant cut diamonds and culminating in a tassel of ruby beads highlighted with 25 rondelles set with approximately 175 round brilliant cut diamonds, each strand of the tassel ending with a gold bead. Total diamond weight approximately 17.25 carats. Length approximately 21 1/2 inches. Gross weight approximately 371.60 grams. Signed Giovane, Italy.
