THIS IS A SPECTACULAR AND RARE ANTIQUE 750 CARAT SMOKY TOPAZ AND LARGE CARVED JADE BEAD PENDANT NECKLACE FROM THE ESTATE OF HOLLYWOOD ACTRESS MARY LOU DAVES WITH AN ABSOLUTELY EXTRAORDINARY MONUMENTAL EMERALD CUT 750 CARAT SMOKY QUARTZ. THE SMOKY TOPAZ HAS INCREDIBLE COLOR AND CLARITY AND IS A MAGNIFICENT GEM. THE GEM IS 62MM (2.5 INCHES) LONG, 47MM WIDE AND 39MM DEEP. THE GEM IS SET IN GILT STERLING SILVER AND HANGS FROM A MAGNIFICENT CHAIN OF LARGE CARVED NATURAL JADE BEADS. THE JADE BEADS ARE 1 1/8 INCHES (28MM) IN DIAMETER. This is an absolutely exquisite monumental 750 carat smoky topaz and natural carved Jade Necklace from the estate of Hollywood Legend Mary Lou Daves. Ms. Daves' jewelry exemplified her exquisite taste. Her jewels were unique, dramatic and elegant. Provenance: The necklace is from the Bel Air estate of Delmer and Mary Lou Daves where a who's who of Hollywood legends (Cole Porter entertained guests at the piano) were entertained. Their love story began on the set of the 1938 film, "Professor Beware." As a successful contract writer for Warner Bros., Delmer Daves wrote the screenplay and wanted to visit the set to see how things were going. 19-year-old, Mary Lawrence was cast as the Bride. He was instantly smitten. "So you're playing the bride? I wish you would marry me," he quipped. "I shall answer you with the same spirit you asked me. Of course I will be yours forever." The two were married for 39 years, had three children and a lifetime of adventures.
