Victorian Natural Half Pearl and Diamond Brooch-Pendant
About the Item
A Victorian natural half pearl and diamond oval brooch-pendant, set to the centre with three graduating half pearls set with rose-cut diamonds, surrounded by cluster of fourteen half-pearls, within half-pearl set border, all claw-set to a yellow gold mount with detachable brooch fitting and pendant loop, circa 1860, measuring approximately 4.4 x 3.4cm, gross weight 19.25 grams
This antique brooch is in very good condition. Unmarked, tested as 18ct gold.
This gorgeous pearl and diamond brooch was made in the mid Victorian era. It features an array of pearls and diamonds set to an ornate yellow gold mount. The pearls have beautiful nacre and are complemented wonderfully by the warmth of the gold, and the diamonds add alluring sparkle. This piece features a detachable brooch fitting and a pendant loop, giving it versatility: it would be a beautiful addition to an evening gown, and would also look stunning hung from a gold chain. It comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.
