Important Private collector or museum piece from the House Janesich, made in Paris, 19 rue de la Paix in the Art Deco Period. The wonderful Dark Green Galuchat makes it one of the few and most beautiful examples of Art Deco Galuchat Cigarette Case.
Famed for producing some of the most stylish jewellery and objet of the Art Deco period, the house of Janesich was actually established almost a hundred years earlier, in 1835. The 1920’s and 30’s were a particularly rich and fruitful period for the firm and they excelled at producing both jewellery and accessories in the fashionable modern style that would become known as Art Deco.
