Art nouveau belle epoque card holder created by Brüder Figdor. An impressive and beautiful piece, created in Vienna Austria by Brüder Figdor during the Edwardian and Belle Epoque periods, back in the 1905. This card holder case was crafted with elaborated repousse motifs of Art nouveau patterns in solid .800/.999 sterling silver. The elegant design is fully decorated with drapes, bows and tassels and is composed by multiples figures of winged puttis playing with a compass, a ruler, a hammer and a flute, surely is an allegorical allusion to the arts and music. Weight: 179.95 Grams, (115.35 Dwt). Measurements: 108 mm by 70 mm by 16 mm (4.24 x 2.75 x 0.63 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped twice with the maker's mark BF inside an oval for Brüder Figdor and the Austrian control marks cartouche of Diana with A3. Note: The silversmith atelier of Brüder Figdor was very active in Vienna between the 1881 and 1919. Collateral: It is accompanied by a presentation jewelry box. Condition: The overall condition of this piece is excellent. Beside the little normal wear, there is no damage to the sterling silver.     A guilloche enameled pill box designed by David Andersen. Extremely rare early 20th century enamel pill-box, created in Norway during the late Edwardian and art nouveau period at the workshop of David Andersen, circa 1910. This beautiful box was carefully crafted with impeccable details in solid .925/.999 standard silver with gilded interiors finish. Made of rectangular form with curved edges and fitted with a five barrels hinged lid, that can be raised by a simple thumbpiece. Engine turned guilloche decoration topped with applications of translucent silvered-white and light purple enamels and finally embellished with tiny flowers motifs decorations in high relief. Weight: 59.40 Grams, (38.08 Dwt). Measurements: 65 mm by 38 mm and a height of 13 mm (2.56 x 1.50 x 0.51 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped with French and Norwegian marks, the maker's mark associated to David Andersen inside a cartouche, the mark for the assay of the silver S .925 and stamped twice with the French import mark of the swan, for importation. Very interesting exports and imports marks. Note: The hallmark of a swan facing to the left inside an oval (Osprey-124), was introduced in 1893 for small silver items imported into France. The silver product need to have at least a standard assay of .800/999 or over. The swan mark indicates that the item was produced in a non-treaty country and served as an import identification. The swan mark used until 1970. David Andersen David Andersen was born in 1843 in Østre Toten, Innlandet to Anders Svendsen and Anne Margrethe Gulbrandsdatter, and was the father of goldsmith Arthur David-Andersen. He was one of the most important Norwegian goldsmiths. From 1859 he was in apprenticeship with the jeweler Jacob Tostrup in Christiania (now called Oslo). He spent several periods abroad, in Berlin, Stockholm, Paris and London. During his stay in London he also imported Norwegian filigree works to the United Kingdom. He established his own goldsmith workshop in Christiania 1876, which eventually became a leading company in the goldsmith industry in Norway.     Enamel case designed by Strauss-Allard & Meyer for George Stockwell Exceptional art deco rectangular case, created in Paris France at the jewelry workshop atelier of Strauss Allard et Meyer, back in the 1925-1926. This piece has been carefully crafted in solid .925/.999 sterling silver with gilt interiors. It is decorated with geometric chinoiserie motifs typical from the period and embellished with applications on both sides of vivid red-orange lacquer. This beautiful box was made with chamfered edges and is fitted with an eight barrel hinge, a push lock and a hinged barrier with a spring. It is in mint condition with no trace of use or wear and can be easily used as a luxury presentation cards-box or as a very high end cigarette-case. Weight: 111.95 Grams, (71.76 Dwt). Measurements: 87.63 mm by 63.5 mm by 19 mm (3.45 x 2.5 by 0.75 Inches). Hallmarks: All parts are stamped with French and British marks; the Parisian maker's mark SAM associated to Strauss Allard & Meyer and the French national mark for the assay of the silver and signed. In addition, three times with the British import mark for London, the importer sponsor mark GS associated to George Stockwell, the letter L for the importation and assay date of 1926, two times with the mark .925 for the assay of the silver and two times with the serial numbers 4650. Strauss Allard Meyer Maker’s Mark Strauss-Allard et Meyer Strauss, Allard et Meyer, in Place des Vosges, were one of the most successful of the Parisian Art Deco workshops, specializing in luxury vanity cases and boxes, many of which were in the 'chinoiserie style', The offices were located at 25 of the rue Taitbout.
